Building Strong Foundations - What needs to change?
Join the conversation about suicide in the construction and allied trades industry.
Construction workers in Australia are around twice as likely to die by suicide as workers in other industries, and Tasmania is seeing many of the same challenges and risk factors. This free breakfast event brings together industry leaders, employers, workers, apprentices, and community organisations to discuss what needs to change across Industry and how we can tailor better, safer, healthier workplaces and programs to address suicide across the industry.
This is not just an individual issue, it is an industry issue. Suicide in the construction industry is not inevitable, it is preventable. But meaningful change will take all of us working together.
Building Strong Foundations is an opportunity to have your say, share ideas, and be part of practical conversations about creating real change. Together, we can improve workplace culture, strengthen support systems, encourage early conversations, and ensure people know they are not alone.
No single organisation can solve this alone. Change will take industry, employers, workers, and community coming together to support one another and take action.
